U C what I C - Phase Two (Final)
Problems Encountered
-- Finding human resources:
Big thanks to my brother, who got his buddies to be my actors (thank you all!) and acted himself! (and kudos to my youngest brother who's in the last frames)
-- Communicating my ideas:
It was extremely difficult for me to communicate the exact impression I visualize in my head to the actors. Unlike previous projects where I can shape my visuals the way I imagined, here my actors have to understand and reproduce what I want. Moreover, it was awkward for my brother's friends to pose in the public so I had to be quick enough to capture their expressions. It was also not easy to position the props and actors accurately for my framing.
-- Camera techniques:
I seldom work with cameras and it was a challenge to frame the photographs similar to my storyboards. I also realised after downloading the photographs that the later ones are slightly blurred, probably from my shaky hands.
Reflections
I was delighted that most of my tutorial mates were able to comprehend and laugh at my visuals. Personally, I felt the perspectives and framing of my photographs could be better. A good photograph will enable its viewer to grasp its focus immediately but I figure mine probably needs a couple of seconds to process because of the multiple long and flat shots I've used (probably also the reason why some didn't get my story initially). I had also forgotten to turn off the date feature on my camera! However, it was an enriching and different experience in all from the usual sketches.
