Assignment Three - 01

U C what I C - Phase One
What? Tell a story (with a twist ending) using 10 or less pictures

Brainstorming
My early ideas revolved around a disastrous birthday event. (inspired by an actual experience of my brother)

I abandoned this idea early as the ending is more of a blooper than a twist - meaning the viewer can expect the ending. Hence, I modified the plot (inspired by Mr. Bean clip, you'll know which if you've watched his series - his girl points at a ring but instead, he bought the card beside the ring). The guy in my script points at the birthday cake but the salesperson picked the wrong one and he didn't realise it till the end.

However, to make sure the ending has a good comical impact, the inappropriate cake has to be really ridiculous and out of the blue.. which is extremely difficult to source for within the time we're given (3 days). I will need permission to photo-shoot at a cake shop as well. Personally, the greatest problem is brainstorming an idea that you have the manpower, props and venue to shoot it, within the extremely limited time.

Storyboards (Chosen Script)
Eventually, I settled with this script as it is feasible.

Plot: Guy appears to be suave and impressive with his confidence and bicycle skills. However, it was all a front because he's a trainee with a poor lad pushing him from behind. The original twist was to use a trainee bicycle (with four wheels) but I was unable to find the prop within the time constraints.
